CHAYPS - Challenge, Harness, Action - Young Peoples Service is the Voluntary Arm of Charles Harrison Associates:

Supporting Young People to build resilience and towards independence:

  • We believe that children and young people should be supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential by providing access to positive activities and additional targeted support for those most vulnerable.
  • We strive to encourage, involve and engage children and young people and provide an innovative and diverse range of opportunities that address the individual needs of children and young people.
  • Through Positive Activities our programmes are designed to encourage children and young people to become active citizens by involving them in volunteering opportunities, learning new skills and developing positive relationships, thus enabling them to become active citizens in their communities and in wider society.
  • CHAYPS will develop cross sector partnerships in order to create opportunities for children and young people. We will develop and sustain services long term by securing external funding, enabling cross subsidy and making best use of resources.
  • Our Play Services offer affordable childcare, after school and during school holidays. Fundraising through CHAYPS enables us to offer 'free places' to children in need.
